Many players have appeared in the National League and made friends and enemies alike on fifth-tier football pitches. However, some players are closer than others, as some have played alongside their brothers in the fifth tier.

Here are ten examples of siblings who have played together in the National League:

James Jennings and Connor Jennings (Played together at Stockport County)

The brothers played together for Stockport County in the National League. Both players joined County in the summer of 2020.

James spent just one season with the north west outfit before retiring from the professional game, while Connor played for Stockport until he joined Hartlepool in January 2023. Connor joined Tranmere in the summer of 2023.

Jake Moult and Louis Moult (Played together for Alfreton)

The brothers featured for Alfreton in the National League. Jake Moult joined Alfreton from Stafford Rangers in the summer of 2010, and his brother joined the club on loan and made just one appearance for the club.

Louis Moult has since gone on to have a career higher in the football pyramid, playing in the SPL for Motherwell and the English Championship with Preston North End.

Jake Gallagher and Daniel Gallagher (Played together for Dorking Wanderers)

Football runs in the family, as they are the older brothers of Chelsea and England midfielder Conor Gallagher. The pair played together at Dorking Wanderers.

Daniel and Jake Gallagher both joined the club in 2019. The former is still with the club at the time of writing. However, Jake moved to Maidstone in 2022 to continue his colourful career in English non-League football.

Liam Hogan and Scott Hogan (Played together for Halifax Town)

The pair spent a very short period of time together at Halifax Town in season 2011/12. Liam joined the Yorkshire club in 2010 and went on to represent Town until 2013 when he joined Fleetwood Town.

However, the pair only played once together at Halifax, as Scott was only on loan at the club, making just a solitary appearance for the Shaymen.

While Liam spent the majority of his playing career in the fifth tier, Scott has spent the majority of the last decade in the Championship, where he has scored goals at a reasonable rate.

Harry Taylor and Jack Taylor (Played together for Barnet)

The pair started their professional football careers in the youth set-up at Premier League Chelsea. However, both left the capital club and joined London rivals Barnet in 2012, where they featured together in the first team.

Jack stayed with the Bees until 2020, when he moved on to Peterborough and has been playing in the EFL since. Harry was with Barnet until 2022, making 171 appearances and scoring one goal. He joined Southend United in the summer of 2022, where he currently plies his trade.

Stuart Sinclair and Rob Sinclair (Played together for Salisbury City)

The midfield pair started their careers at Luton Town before moving elsewhere. Their career paths crossed in season 2013/14 when they both featured for Salisbury City.

Scott went on to play league football with Bristol Rovers and Walsall. Meanwhile, Rob played in the EFL with Stevenage, Aldershot and Forest Green Rovers.

James Tunnicliffe and Jordan Tunnicliffe (Played together for Stalybridge Celtic)

The pair played together at Stalybridge Celtic in season 2013/14. Both players were on loan at the club. Jordan made a single appearance for the club, while James made just ten appearances for Stalybridge.

The appearances for Stalybridge were the last of James’ career, as he has not had a professional club since leaving in 2014. However, Jordan has carved out a slightly longer career, as he spent three years in League Two with Crawley Town before helping Wrexham to win promotion from the National League in season 2022/23.

Elliot Bradbrook and Tom Bradbrook (Played together for Dartford)

The pair played together for Dartford. Tom played for Dartford from 2014 until leaving in the summer of 2016. Meanwhile, Elliot joined the club in 2012 before ending his playing career in 2019.

Leo Donnellan and Shaun Donnellan (Played together for Maidstone)

The pair played together for Maidstone. Leo joined the club in February 2019, having come through the youth ranks at QPR and played for Dagenham and Redbridge.

Shaun kicked off his professional football career at West Brom. He joined Maidstone in January 2019 after spells at the likes of Dagenham and Redbridge, and Yeovil Town.

Matt Green and Jake Green (Played together for Mansfield Town)

The pair played together for Mansfield Town in the National League. Matt Green had numerous spells at Town. His best spell with the club came when he scored 40 goals in 62 appearances.

Jake Green’s spell with the club was short, as he left the club in 2013 when he was released.
