Step 6 of the National League System
Step 6 of the National League system contains 16 regional leagues that operate independently from each other. At least 16 teams play in each league, with the highest number of teams in the leagues being 20.
These leagues act as a feeder system to step 5, although both promotion and relegation are arranged according to separate agreements with the appropriate county feeder leagues.
Along with clubs from mainland England, FC Isle of Man has also participated in step six of the National League system.
Teams at Step 6 participate in the First Division Challenge Cup winners, with all teams playing in each league eligible to take part in the competition.
