St Piran League West Division
St Piran League West Division, along with its East Division counterpart, are part of the English football 11th tier, and the league is part of National Feeder Leagues of the National League system (formerly step 7). The league acts as a feeder to step six of the NAS pyramid.
The St Piran League West Division was established in 2019 when the St Piran was created as a feeder league to step six when step seven underwent a restructuring.
The league absorbed the East Cornwall League, the Cornwall Combination, the Duchy League and the Trelawny League. Due to the local leagues being absorbed, many of the league participants are based in Cornwall, with others from nearly Devon.
The league initially had two divisions, but now it has five divisions in the east and five in the west. The West Division and the East Division are at the top of the pyramid.
The St Piran League West Division has contained 15 teams in seasons 2023/24 and season 2024/25. However, it has previously contained at least 14 teams and a high of 16 teams in recent seasons.
The team that finishes top of the table win promotion to the South West Peninsula Premier Division West. However, that promotion isn’t guaranteed, as the promoted team’s facilities have to meet the safety requirements of the higher league.
The team that finished top in season 2023/24, St Day A.F.C., earned promotion to the South West Peninsula League Premier Division West by remaining unbeaten for their whole campaign.
The team that finishes bottom of the St Piran West Division suffers relegation to the St Piran Division One West. One team per season wins promotion from Division One West. However, their promotion is subject to the league depending on whether the club has a stadium that fits the safety requirements of St Piran West Division.
