More information about the league

nottinghamshire senior leagueThe Nottinghamshire Senior League was founded in 2004, replacing the Nottinghamshire Football Alliance League as the top county league in the Nottinghamshire area.

The league overall consists of five divisions: The Premier Division, NSL Division One, NSL Division Two, NSL Division Three and the NSL Development Division. The league only moved to a five-league system in 2020. Previously, the league consisted of just three leagues before it also absorbed the Midland & Notts Alliance League.

The Nottinghamshire Senior League is a feeder to the Counties League, and the 10th tier of English football. Teams that win promotion from the Premier Division play their football in the Northern Counties East League Division One, the United Counties League Division One or the Midland Football League Division One.

The top eligible club in the league’s top five at the end of the regular season is promoted. However, if no club meets the requirements of the Step Six leagues, then no club is promoted, which is a common occurrence in the Premier Division. Teams relegated from the Premier Division go down to NSL Division One.
