International breaks have interrupted the flow of some of the world’s biggest football leagues in recent months.

However, it isn’t only the elite football leagues that have seen players go away on international duty of late, as some games in the National League, and even the National League North and South, have been postponed due to the international break.

With those international breaks in mind, today we are examining which players from the fifth and sixth tiers of the English game represent their nations on the global stage.

Maldini Kacurri (Albania)

With a first name like Maldini, you have to have some talent when it comes to defending, and in the case of youngster Maldini Kacurri, he does, having enjoyed his football education at Arsenal.

At 20, the London-born Kacurri is on loan at National League Morecambe from the North London powerhouse. At international level, he has already picked up his first international cap for Albania, making his debut in a World Cup qualifier against Gibraltar in September.

Kayden Harrack (Grenada)

The former Brentford youngster currently plies his trade in the National League South with Dagenham and Redbridge. Despite being born in England’s capital, Harrack has represented Grenada at international level, picking up 18 caps and scoring one goal.

At just 21, he still has plenty of time in his playing career to earn more caps for the Caribbean Island country.

Kian Ronan (Gibraltar)

The versatile Chelmsford City star is one of the most capped players on our list, having won 43 caps for Gibraltar at international level, despite still only being 24. Ronan started his career with Ipswich Town before dropping down the leagues.

He made his debut for Gibraltar in 2020 in a UEFA Nations League clash against San Marino.

Louie Annesley (Gibraltar)

Another English-born Gibraltar international, Annesley, has won an impressive 54 caps for the British Overseas Territory. Annesley holds a small piece of Gibraltar football history, as he was the first to represent them at every level from U-16 upwards.

Annesley is currently plying his trade in the National League South with Dorking Wanderers.

Omari Sterling-James (Saint-Kitts and Nevis)

The much-travelled winger is currently with National League North outfit Hereford, having started his youth career with hometown club Birmingham City.

However, at international level, he represents Saint-Kitts and Nevis, making 31 appearances for the dual-island national team, scoring four times, including qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.

Lois Maynard (Saint-Kitts and Nevis)

Another Saint Kitts and Nevis international, Maynard, has been capped 31 times at international level. The versatile star is well-travelled in the non-league game, and currently plays for Radcliffe in the National League.

Football is the family, as his cousin is England international Marcus Rashford. In addition to being a player in the sixth-tier, Maynard works as a personal trainer and fitness coach.

Mohammed Sangare (Liberia)

The midfielder moved to England from Liberia when he was 14. However, he hasn’t forgotten his roots, as the 26-year-old has made 23 international appearances for the country of his birth, scoring four goals in the process.

Sangare started his football journey in youth football at Accrington Stanley and Newcastle United. His career has since taken in spells in Scotland with Livingston and in Italy with Bellinzona. However, currently, he is on the books of the National League outfit, Morecambe.

Harry Panayiotou (Saint Kitts and Nevis)

The experienced forward is a teammate of Sangare at Morecambe and also played at international level with some of the other players on our list. Panayiotou has made 39 international appearances, scoring 12 goals for his national team.

Interestingly, the 30-year-old could have also represented England, as the country of his birth and also Cyprus, due to his dad being Greek Cypriot. However, he decided to represent Saint Kitts and Nevis due to his mum being Kittian.

Kane Crichlow (Bermuda)

The Sutton United star had a fascinating journey to English non-league football, as he started his career in the youth ranks of Spanish club Cornella from 2012 until 2018, when he joined AFC Wimbledon.

Critchlow has since been on the books at Watford, Episkopi in Greece, Bishop’s Stortford, and Chelmsford City before joining Sutton United in the summer of 2025.

The midfielder has played for Bermuda since making his debut in 2021, making 23 international appearances and scoring 12 goals.
